Members of NAIFA-MD’s Board of Directors recently had the opportunity to speak to Maryland’s House Health and Government Operations Committee during a Health Insurance 101 briefing. Glenn Arrington and Brian Jolles, along with NAIFA-MD lobbyist Brett Lininger, introduced NAIFA-MD as a resource for the financial services industry and shared the value agents and producers bring to the table for helping individuals and companies navigate through the web of healthcare, serving as the trusted advisor for consumers. On Wednesday, November 2nd, members and potential members of NAIFA-Maryland enjoyed a few brews and bites at BC Brewery, mingling with the best and brightest insurance and financial advisors in the state! 

NAIFA and the Society of Financial Service Professionals are proud to host the return of the Advanced Practice Center Symposium on Thursday, September 29 from 1 to 5 pm eastern. Taking place at The Radnor Hotel in the Greater Philadelphia Area, the event will also be livestreamed for those not in the area. Continuing Education Credits are being offered for both attendance options.

Several NAIFA-Maryland members met with Shivani from Senator Cardin's office and Griffin from Senator Van Hollen’s office recently to provide important input on legislation pending consideration before the U.S. Senate.

NAIFA-Maryland came together on June 9 for "Race to Success," held at the Maryland Jockey Club in Laurel. This event was the first time coming together in-person since before the pandemic began. The day began with breakfast followed by a program that included speakers Senator Pam Beidle, Brian Haney, Paul Dougherty and more.

When Cliff Kwartner was studying business administration in college, he didn’t know what he wanted to do. When he graduated, he narrowed his job offers down to two positions: mortgage broker or insurance agent. He decided to go into insurance because he saw it as a career rather than just a job. It was 2008—he made the right choice. 

Making a Difference

Kwartner loved his career from the start—he loved talking to new people and helping them plan for the life they wanted. One of the benefits of being an insurance agent is building relationships with others in the industry, says Kwartner. “Your reputation is your biggest asset. If you do good business and you do things the right way, that will go a long way.”
